DVLA Clarifies Alleged GH¢308,000 Theft Case

Date:

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has dismissed media reports suggesting that it was the victim of an alleged theft involving GH¢308,000, clarifying that the money in question neither belongs to the Authority nor was stolen from any of its accounts.
In a statement issued in response to a publication titled “DVLA Service Personnel allegedly steals GH¢308K to purchase Hyundai Elantra saloon car, a Samsung 50-inch television set and pay sibling’s school fees,” the Authority described the report as misleading and likely to create the false impression that public funds had been misappropriated.
According to the DVLA, the case under investigation is a personal dispute involving an individual who previously served as a National Service person with the Authority and is currently on contract. It stressed that the matter is between two private individuals and has no connection to the Authority’s operations, finances or official activities.
The Authority emphasized that it has not suffered any financial loss as a result of the alleged incident and that none of its funds or accounts are implicated in the ongoing investigation.
DVLA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity and accountability, adding that it has confidence in the due process of the law and will fully cooperate with the police should the need arise. https://www.myjoyonline.com/

It further assured the public that its financial systems remain secure and that its services and operations continue without disruption.
