The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), has arrived in South Africa to participate in the 2026 African Mining Indaba Conference, Africa’s largest mining investment and policy forum.
The high-level conference brings together governments, global mining companies, investors, regulators, and industry experts to attract capital, shape mining policies, and promote responsible and sustainable mineral development across the continent.
Leading Ghana’s delegation, Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah is expected to engage in a series of strategic dialogues and bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening Ghana’s position as a preferred destination for mining investment. He will also contribute to discussions on key challenges confronting the sector, including sustainability, regulatory reforms, value addition, and responsible mining practices.
A major highlight of Ghana’s participation will be the highly anticipated ‘Ghana Day’ event, scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2026, where the sector minister will headline proceedings.
The event will serve as a platform to showcase Ghana’s mining and investment opportunities, promote the country’s vast mineral resources, and deepen investor confidence in the extractive sector.
Ghana’s presence at the African Mining Indaba 2026 reflects the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to transform the mining industry through strategic global partnerships, expanded investments, and policies that support sustainable development and economic growth.
